The Casual Coven

A monthly practicum in practical magic

Welcome to your monthly escape into the art of mindful, enchanted living!

A tad tongue-in-cheek? Absolutely. But, if you, too, are looking to dip your toes into a more magical life but aren’t sure if the group chants or bare-your-soul vulnerability is for you, you’ve come to the right place.

Each month, we pick one topic or practice commonly used to help folks align to nature’s cycles, mindfulness practices, and self-care, and we’ll dig into its history, cultural significance, and mechanics.

Our gatherings are filled with roundtable discussions, practical applications, and end with a simple, yet sacred, circle.

Past topics have included: Tarot 101, Intro to Herbalism, Potions 101, Altars & Sacred Spaces, Incense & Incense-making, Ritual-craft, Talismans & Amulets, The “Clairs”, Grimoire Craft Night.

2025 Topics will include a variety of guest instructors and topics such as: Crystals & Touchstones, Herbalism, Runes, Tarot, Scrying as Meditative or Magical Practice, Holidays of the Wheel of the Year, Elemental Associations, Sigils, Sacred Geometry, Reiki, Dreamwork, Shadow work, Prayer as a Sensory Experience, and more.

Saturday, March 15 6:30pm: Crystals & Touchstones

Crystals have been used for centuries as symbols of intention, focus, and transformation—but how can we incorporate them into our modern spiritual practice in a way that feels personal and meaningful?

This interactive class explores the practical side of working with crystals and touchstones, focusing on how to consecrate crystals as touchstones—physical reminders of your goals, manifestations, and spiritual journey. You'll learn how to consecrate stones for different purposes, using them as tangible reminders of your goals, manifestations, and self-care rituals throughout the week. Whether carried as good luck charms, placed in your home or car for inspiration, or used as soothing fidgets to ease anxiety, these sacred objects can become powerful tools for mindfulness and intention-setting.

This discussion-based gathering encourages open conversation, allowing everyone to share perspectives, experiences, and even a little healthy discourse.

Bring your favorite stone—or discover one that speaks to you—and join us in this exploration of sacred symbolism and everyday magic!
