This juicy flow taps into the tissues around our shoulders. Sending our breath to the muscles that broaden across our upper back, extend along our ribs and up to our chest. Yin is a restorative practice focusing on the deep connective tissue of the body - joints, ligaments, bones and deep fascia. It is a passive practice in which we hold poses for 3 -10 min. The muscles are gently engaged to hold postures without any extra effort in order to stretch out the connective tissues throughout our body. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts. Making it a meditative and restorative practice.
