The Casual Coven
A monthly practicum in practical magic
Welcome to your monthly escape into the art of mindful, enchanted living!
A tad tongue-in-cheek? Absolutely. But, if you, too, are looking to dip your toes into a more magical life but aren’t sure if the group chants or bare-your-soul vulnerability is for you, you’ve come to the right place.
Each month, we pick one topic or practice commonly used to help folks align to nature’s cycles, mindfulness practices, and self-care, and we’ll dig into its history, cultural significance, and mechanics.
Our gatherings are filled with roundtable discussions, practical applications, and end with a simple, yet sacred, circle.
Friday, September 27, 6:00-7:30pm $30
Altars & Sacred Spaces
This class offers an in-depth exploration of altars and sacred spaces from an anthropological perspective, examining their roles and significance in various cultures and religions worldwide, from personal shrines in domestic settings to grand altars in temples and churches.
Why have one? What makes an altar an altar? What are the requirements to build an altar? What symbolic meanings and rituals do people use to interact with their sacred spaces.
Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned practitioner, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of what makes an altar sacred and how to build your own.
